It is in the language of welcome, of sacred and radical hospitality, that we greet you as you look over our website and consider whether or not to join us in worship or other activities of fellowship and service here in Banchory.
Banchory is an unexpected place: a rural village filled with people who have lived all over the world. There is unexpected good will between the various churches here, each of whom has its own special style and strand of worship, but we share in our care for each other and the community. Many of its inhabitants came from elsewhere because of work or family connections and end up staying because life on Deeside is so nurturing of health and a sense of community.
St Ternan’s is very much a product of this place, filled with all kinds of people, who grew up worshipping in various kinds of Anglican and Episcopal traditions, or other kinds of religious experiences, or none.
Our worship reflects that, offering different services that reflect the dignity and richness of our ancient traditions with the flexibility and participation of emerging church.
Our fellowship reflects that, as we engage with each other in respect and goodwill and seek to serve each other, the local community, the world with pastoral care, learning and fellowship events, and ongoing formation opportunities.
We hope you will bring your heart and join us.
